lessons available in-person, online, and hybrid
About
Marjory teaches piano lessons at her home studio (Port Coquitlam) and at Place des Arts (Coquitlam). She loves working with all levels from the very young beginner to the advanced piano student. At Place des Arts, she supervises several junior teachers in addition to teaching pedagogy classes to both new and established teachers. She adjudicates music festivals throughout British Columbia, and she is an examiner for Conservatory Canada. As a clinician, she presents masterclasses and workshops to teachers and students on various topics.
Marjory considers the benefits of music education immeasurable for a child's emotional, social, and intellectual development. In her teaching, she encourages and challenges students to strive towards excellence within a kind and supportive environment. She believes everyone has an artist within, and she aspires to guide students on their journey of learning and discovery.
Marjory’s students have been accepted into top music programs including the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria, and the University of Toronto. They are recipients of numerous local, provincial, and national awards from festivals, the British Columbia Registered Music Teachers Association, and Conservatory Canada; but what Marjory values most is helping students master the things they thought were impossible, and the privilege of sharing time with children as they grow up.
